In an effort to provide the most reliable and secure virtual desktop connection, we are requiring you to take action in upgrading your Virtual Desktop client software.

Zero Client Users must upgrade the firmware to 4.8.1:

 

  1. Login to Zero Client using a Browser and the Zero Client's IP
  2. Connect and Power On Zero Client
  3. In the upper-left, click the Options Menu and select Information
  4. Verify the Firmware Version is at 4.8.1, click Close
    Note: Firmware 4.8.1 requires at least 4.6.0 or higher (you cannot upgrade directly from 4.2.0 to 4.7.1, you must first upgrade to 4.6.0)
  5. In the upper-left, click the Options Menu and select Configuration
  6. Obtain the IP Address
  7. Using a remote computer, open a browser to the IP address (confirm the certificate warning)
  8. Login using the password: Administrator

 

If Zero Client has firmware prior to 4.8.1, start here, otherwise skip down to Repeat Steps

  1. In the Upload Menu, click Firmware
  2. Click Browse

  3. Click Open
  4. Click Upload
  5. Click OK
  6. The process takes a few minutesClick Reset, click OK

VMware View Client for Windows, Mac, and Linux must upgrade to 3.2 or higher (recommended 4.0 or higher)

  1. Navigate to https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/info?slug=desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_horizon_clients/4_0
  2. Select the Go to Downloads link to the right
  3. Click the Download button
  4. Save the file to a suitable location
  5. Execute the updated View Client installer
