If a customer asks to have a users mailbox restored from a certain date, and they have Veeam. You can export it to pst file and then from there send link so they may download it or if we have access to the server, we can save it there after it has been exported.
Step-by-step guide
You will need to use SYNC, and have access to server EIP-REST-VC3-01 in VC3.
- Log in to the server EIP-REST-VC3-01 with your AD credentials. The restore box can be found in Vsphere VC3.
- Once in the server open Veeam and connect to server self-vbr-vc3-01.eip.local with AD creds
- Under Backups, search for the specific backup, or customer
- Right click on the server not the vApp, and select Restore application items, then Microsoft Exchange mailbox items
- Now choose the date of the backup, then Write a reason for this restore or skip by selecting Next
- Now choose the user's mailbox and then export to desktop, which wiill save the mailbox to the desktop as a pst file.
- Finally drag and drop into your SYNC and from here you can provide a link to the share or download it on the server of there choice.
