Dear DaaS User,

By now you're probably used to the sleek new Windows Start Menu which brings together the best elements of the various Microsoft versions of the past couple of decades.  But did you know that new Start Menu is 100% customizable to the way you work?  Here are a few quick tips to get you started optimizing your desktop work experience:

Add/Remove Items to/from the Pinned Start Menu

Is there a program you use all the time?  Just right-click on it in the program list (alphabetical left-hand column) and select Pin to Start.

Don't want to see the latest Xbox games?  Just right-click on that tile and select Unpin from Start.

Move, Resize, and Group Items

Items that are pinned can be moved, resized, and regrouped.  To move or change groups, click and hold on the item and then drag it where you want.  To change appearance, right-click on the item and go to the Resize to select the right size.

Want to name your groups?  Click on the blank space above one to edit the name.

If you want to nest programs into sub-folders, simply drag one icon onto another to create an expanding list right in the pinned area.

Resize the Quick Launch Area

You might find that one column of pinned items is not enough.  To add more columns, position the cursor on the right edge of the start menu until it changes to a bi-directional arrow.  Click and drag to the right to add a column (or more).  Of course, this works to shrink the columns too.
