Problem

Customer/support staff unable to connect to enterprise center via URL. Browser reads "ERR_Connection_Refused" or similar.  Connection is possible within the network using IP address.

Solution

  • Check Enterprise Centers for floating IP address
    • In correct vCenter (VC3 for Philly, VC4 for LV), navigate to customer's Enterprise Center.
    • On the general tab of the EC, check IP addresses.
      • Usually, a 169.254.0.X address appears.
      • Next to it, click View all
      • One of the two ECs should have three addresses, 169.254.0.X, 10.200.1.220 (or 221), and the floating IP 10.200.1.220
  • If neither EC has the floating address (10.200.1.222), power off both ECs
    • Right click > Power > Shutdown guest
  • Wait 3 minutes.
  • Power on EC01. Wait for it to turn green in Service Center. Check for floating IP. This may take 5-15 minutes.
  • Power on EC02. Ensure it turns green in Service Center.
  • Check URL again.
