From the Dashboard, Click on theVPGtab on the left-hand side of the screen
Check the box next to the VPG you would like to perform the Test Failover for, once checked, click the Blue Test Button in the bottom-left
The Test Failover window opens, select the VPGs that you would like to test, Click Next.
Under Parameters; Select the required settings for your Test and then Click Next.
Checkpoint: Select the desired checkpoint that you would like to use for the test failover.
Boot Order: If you are performing multiple tests at the same time and you require certain servers to boot prior to another, you can edit the order in which they boot.
Scripts: If your server requires scripts at boot, you can add them here.
Confirm choices and click the blue Start Failover Test button.
If you login to your vCloud Portal, you should begin to see the servers spin up in yourDRVirtual Data Center. Depending on your choices for failover, you will also notice power status changes, boot order, etc. Once the tests complete, console into theVMand ensure functionality. Once you confirm the VM is in the desired state, you will need to go back to the ZVM web UI, under the VPG tab, find the VPG that you have performed the test failover and under the Operation column, click the stop button to end the failover test.
