Polycoms – URL Calling Disabled

 

When you get the above error on a Polycom, ensure the LAN cable is plugged into the LAN port and not PC. Ensure phone is behind an EW, if it’s not, IP phone is coming from must be whitelisted (www.whatismyip.com)

 

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Prov Server -> DHCP Menu → Boot Server -> Must be set to Custom+OPT66 if behind EW router

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Prov Server -> Server Type: FTP

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Ethernet Menu  -> DHCP: Enabled

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Ethernet Menu  -> DHCP: Enabled

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Ethernet Menu  -> VLAN Menu  -> VLAN ID: Must match Nagios/Other working phones

 

If a user is NOT behind an EW Router (Home user/Office without our equipment)

 

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Prov Server -> DHCP Menu → Boot Server -> Static

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Prov Server -> Server Type: FTP

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Prov Server -> Server Address: tftp.voip.evolveip.net/ENTERPRISE# (this has to be programmed as there is no EW router and the phone does not know where to point)

Polycoms – Menu -> Settings(3) -> Advanced(2) -> 347479989 -> Admin Settings(1)  -> Network Config(1) -> Ethernet Menu  -> VLAN Menu  -> VLAN ID: BLANK

 

 

If settings are verified & phone still does not work, switch port will need to be checked to ensure it’s a TAGGED VOICE PORT (IE: Trunked VLAN2)
