The below steps are intended to provide a more seamless installation process for the Cisco 7941/61 7942/62 7945/66 model phones.  Other Cisco/Linksys phones may have different requirements.  Please consult with Tier 2 or Tier 3 on other models.


1.)   Phone configuration files must be built prior to installation. (ServDel/PM)

2.)   Once phone configuration files have been built, provide Tier 2 with directory and MAC addresses for verification of the files on the tftp server.

3.)   Edgewaters must be configured to include an additional SBC Host to allow for proper registration.  (SAC)

At the time of cutover:

4.)   Phones must be defaulted to wipe old configurations.

Some model of Ciscos may have a security profile which would need to be removed.  Instruction on how to do so is referenced here: X Deleting the security profile on Cisco 7945 or 7965 IP Phone


5.)  Connect the phone to an access port on the switch.  If the phone does not pull its configurations and register at this time, collect a capture on the LAN & WAN interfaces and send to Voice Engineering for further review.
