The Evolved Office HPBX offers options for wireless handsets. The IP option is a DECT solution. This solution means that a wireless voice server connects to the Evolve IP platform and offers a wireless signal to the handset(s) in range of the wireless device. The configuration is setup as a one to many scenario: one server can have multiple handsets registered to it. The limiting factor in this configuration is concurrent calls on the wireless device. The DECT solution segments the wireless voice traffic off the IP wireless data network and supports VLANs.

**Evolve IP will only stock IP-DECT 400 servers and Butterfly handsets along with power and base stations for the handsets. All other handset models below will be ordered on demand with a 6-week lead time.

NOTE- As of January 2018, Yealink can also be offered to customers as a viable option for wireless solutions. for more information on the W60B model, visit the Yealink page here

Product Details

It is important to understand the different configurations of the handsets and how the user will operate on the HPBX platform to choose the right product solutions. Listed here are the details for selecting the wireless units to deploy for the customer. However, you will need to select other products and services from the Evolved Office HPBX suite of applications. Here are a few examples of the options to be selected in conjunction with the wireless solution Premium, Standard, Common Area seat types, Installation and Configuration. Lastly the wireless phone can be added as a Shared Call Appearance to a Premium user.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I see in the SpectraLink Info that servers greater than the 400 are available, does Evolve IP offer those?

  • No. Evolve IP is focused on the small office / inventory room / warehouse environment. The IP-DECT 400 solution targets that market. For larger coverage, Evolve IP can easily integrate applications on the mobile phone for ease of use and customers won’t need to carry 2 phones throughout facilities. In addition, analog handsets might be integrated to design the overall solution.

How many handsets can I deploy to one server?

  • The SpectraLink IP-DECT Wireless Server 400 server allows for a max of 12 handsets and 6 concurrent calls to register to each server in a standard licensing agreement. Consult product development to expand beyond those limits.

What does single-cell and multi-cell mean?

  • Single cell means that customers can only have 1 wireless server that provides all service to wireless handsets from that one server. Multi-cell means that you can deploy multiple wireless servers that overlap in wireless range to expand wireless coverage.

If I buy more than one server, will calls hop from server to server?

  • Calls will not hop from one wireless server to another. Handsets will pair to one wireless server when in range of that server. Therefore, they need to be centrally located to that particular wireless server after on an active call.

Do Evolve IP applications work over the 7000 series handsets?

  • No, corporate directory or custom soft keys are not available on the handset.

Other handsets are listed by SpectraLink, does Evolve IP offer those handsets?

  • Evolve IP realizes that SpectraLink offers more handsets such 7480, 7640, etc. Evolve IP does not supply all those units. Partners and customers are free to purchase those units and pair them to the wireless server. The customer contact or partner just needs to work with OSSmosis or an Evolve IP associate on getting the MAC address (IPEI number) of the wireless handset input into the server’s configuration, then reboot the IP wireless server.
